Early

Years Foundation Stage

I believe that:

  • Parents are their child’s first and most important educator

  • Children learn best through play

  • Children learn well in social groups such as family, friends, their childcare setting and local community

I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which sets the standard for the learning, development and care of young children – from birth to five. EYFS helps me to explore seven important learning areas with your child, whilst taking in to account their individual abilities, interests and special educational requirements.

I work with parents to develop the best approach to support and benefit their child’s overall learning and development.  Each child will have a "Learning Journey"  that will document their learning whilst they are in my care.

I am registered with the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted). Ofsted inspects my setting regularly to ensure that I am providing the best service possible.

Childminders are a home from home alternative to a nursery.  We are assessed on the same standards and provide activities based in a home environment.
